Privacy policy
Protecting your family's data is at the heart of KAÏDO. Here is how we handle it.
Last updated: October 15, 2026
Information being finalised: the details of processing (data categories, purposes, retention periods) will be completed soon. Our principles below apply from now.
Audience measurement
This site uses Plausible Analytics, a self-hosted audience measurement solution, without cookies, without personal data and without cross-site tracking. No persistent identifier is placed on your device. The aggregated data is hosted on our own infrastructure. We sometimes compare several versions of a message, picked at random: we only measure totals, with no identifier and nothing stored on your device. To know which site or campaign introduces people to KAÏDO, your browser keeps, for the time of your visit (session storage, erased when you close the tab), the site or campaign you came from and the first page you viewed. This feeds anonymous statistics. Only the site or campaign you came from is attached to your email address, when you sign up or pre-order, and only if you accepted it via the banner; the first page viewed is used only for these anonymous statistics and is not sent with your address. You can withdraw this consent at any time with the button below: your later sign-ups will no longer carry an origin. To erase an origin already noted, write to us.
Cookies and advertising measurement
If you accepted it via the banner, this site loads the Meta pixel (Facebook, Instagram) to measure how well our ads perform. It then places the _fbp cookie on your device, plus _fbc if you arrived from an ad, and sends Meta the page you viewed and your IP address, including to the United States. For this measurement, Meta is a joint controller with us. We send it page views, clicks through to our pre-order page and submissions of the beta-tester form: never your email, and no data whatsoever about your child. Without your consent, this pixel is never loaded and no advertising cookie is placed: the site works exactly the same. You can withdraw your consent at any time using the button below. Withdrawing stops any further transmission, but does not delete what Meta has already received. The page of our Ulule campaign also carries a Meta pixel, loaded by Ulule according to the choices you make there.
Audience measurement with Google Analytics
If you accepted it via the banner, this site also loads Google Analytics to understand its traffic (pages viewed, where visitors come from, device type). It then places _ga cookies on your device (for 13 months at most) and sends Google, our processor, the page you viewed and technical information about your browser; this data may be accessible from the United States. Also with your consent, Google Analytics receives a few actions taken on the site (for example a click on Pre-order, a successful sign-up, playing the video or a round of the quiz), never your email address or your name. No event from the voice trial “Tester KAÏDO” (class level chosen, session length, feedback) is sent to Google Analytics. We have turned off Google signals and any advertising use of this data. Without your consent, Google Analytics is never loaded. Withdrawing your consent with the button below deletes these cookies from your device and stops any further transmission.
If you accepted this measurement, the pre-order links to Ulule tell it which channel you came from (an Instagram ad, a search engine, the name of a website) and where the button you clicked sits (home page, guide, pre-order page…), never your identity, your path through the site or an advertising identifier. Without your consent, they only name our site (“edukaido”) and where the button sits. The Ulule campaign page is itself measured by our Google Analytics and by the Meta pixel, depending on the choices you make on Ulule.
Waiting list and KAÏDO quiz
When you leave your email address (waiting list, or the quiz reward code), it is entrusted to Mailjet, a French provider, to send you what you asked for and, only if you agreed, to let you know when the campaign opens or to send you KAÏDO news. The reward code is derived from your address; nothing else is kept. Retention: 12 months after the campaign closes, or until you unsubscribe (reply STOP to any of our emails).
“Try KAÏDO” voice demo
On the “Tester KAÏDO” page (in French), you can talk to KAÏDO through your microphone, after ticking a consent box. Your voice is streamed live to KAÏDO's voice engine (OpenAI) for the duration of the session and KAÏDO does not record it. The text of the conversation is only kept if you tick the box provided, for 30 days, with no account or cookie and no name asked, to improve KAÏDO, then deleted automatically. Any feedback you choose to send is also kept for 30 days. Your voice goes through OpenAI (United States) during the session. The text of the conversation, never the voice, is also reviewed automatically by TypeSafe AI (United States), which checks that KAÏDO guides without giving the answer. An anti-bot check by Cloudflare Turnstile, our network provider, protects the demo from abuse; it is limited to a few sessions per day and per connection. Nothing links these texts to you: we cannot find them to give you access, they disappear on their own after 30 days.
Lesson photo in the parent app
From the parent app, you can use an explicit button to have KAÏDO read a photo of your child's lesson or exercise page. The photo is sent to our servers and then to our image-reading processor, OpenAI (United States), as for voice, and is then deleted: KAÏDO never stores the photo. Only the structured content of the lesson (title, text, exercises) is kept, attached to the prepared homework, to be used during the session and adapt the support to your child's actual lesson. It is deleted as soon as the homework is done, and at the latest 7 days later (daily purge). You can delete the homework at any time, and everything is deleted along with your account. Legal basis: your consent, collected in the app like the rest of the parent service. Without this button, the photo stays on your phone: the local reading of the instructions happens on the device.
Contact tracking (CRM)
To keep track of our exchanges, we maintain a contact file. It holds your email address, your first and last name if you give them to us, the message you write to us, the form you used and the date of your request, the site or campaign you came from if you accepted it via the banner and, for a customer, the date their parent account was created and the date their sphere was paired. This data comes from you (contact form, news sign-up, exchange with the press or a partner, pre-order) or, for a purchase, from our payment provider (email, name and amount). It is used to reply to you, to keep track of our relationship and, if you agreed, to send you KAÏDO news. Legal bases: your consent for the news, our legitimate interest for professional and press exchanges, performance of the contract for customers. Retention: 3 years after the last exchange. You can object to this tracking at any time or ask for your record to be erased (see GDPR). No data about a child enters this file. Every email we send you explains how to unsubscribe, and our follow-up emails contain a one-click unsubscribe link. For news, we ask you to confirm your address by email before any sending. Professional contact details may also come from our monitoring of public sources (search engines, forums). When we draft a message with the help of artificial intelligence, we send OpenAI (United States) the first name, organisation, job title and internal notes, never your contact details (email address, phone number, LinkedIn profile). We do not automate anything on social networks: every message there is written and sent by hand by the team.
Transfers outside the European Union
Some data is processed outside the European Union. Your child's voice during a session (and yours on the “Tester KAÏDO” demo), the photo of a lesson and some session texts are processed by OpenAI, in the United States. KAÏDO keeps neither the voice nor the photo. These transfers are covered by a data processing agreement signed with OpenAI Ireland Ltd on October 15, 2026, which includes the European Commission's standard contractual clauses (Decision 2021/914). You can ask for a copy by contacting us.
The text of session turns, never the voice, is also reviewed automatically by TypeSafe AI, in the United States, to check that KAÏDO guides without giving the answer. The data processing agreement with TypeSafe AI is in progress: we will update this page as soon as it is signed.
Our principles
- No reselling of data to third parties.
- The strict minimum collected to run the service.
- The child is never profiled for advertising purposes.
Data collected
At this stage, the site only collects what you entrust to us: your email address (waitlist, news, contact), your first name if you give it, the message from the contact form and, if you accepted it via the banner, where your visit came from (the site or campaign you arrived from). With that same consent, we also tell Ulule this origin when you click a pre-order link. The data categories linked to the full service (parent account, device pairing, settings, weekly highlights) will be detailed here as the launch approaches.
Purposes and legal basis
The waitlist email address is used to keep you informed about the launch (on the basis of your consent, which can be withdrawn at any time). The purpose and legal basis of each processing operation for the full service will be specified here soon.
Retention period
Waitlist data is kept until the product launches or until you unsubscribe. The retention periods by data category for the full service will be detailed here. A parent account inactive for 2 years (no login to the app, no session from the sphere) is deleted along with the child’s data, after a warning email sent 30 days beforehand; a single login is enough to keep it.
Your rights
You have rights of access, rectification, erasure and portability. See the GDPR page to exercise them, or contact us.
